Before Ken mother’s family, the Sternbergs, was forced to emigrate from Germany, they were friendly with a neighboring family in their hometown of Herborn. The Schnittert family not only was friendly to the Sternberg family before the Shoah, but during, and after. During Seth and Ken’s trip to Germany, they visited one of the modern members of the Schnittert family, Doris. Ken had the opportunity to record some of their conversation regarding the two families, their shared history, and the stories of the Schnittert family’s history.
