Zakhor – March 2023

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

I appreciate your taking the time and commitment reviewing these lists of recent acquisitions. We continue to seek out unusual Judaica and books on the Shoah. We have confidence that books will be with us and sustain us in the midst of this electronic digital age.

A customer came by and said on seeing the aisles of books that are often randomly placed on the shelf exclaimed: “The book finds you”.

May there be some tomes in this list that “find you” for your research library or to the scholar and/or reader.

May the days ahead be peaceful and filled with good health, companionship and the continued quest for knowledge and understanding.

Shalom,
Ken

Kirkus Review of Book 1934
A true story of present day Germany”” we are told, and surely it reads as though written by an eye witness to the reign of terror instituted last Spring, under the Nazi regime. The story is set in an original mold — a vessel, having sailed from a German port on December 26th, 1932, returns the end of March, 1933, without any knowledge of what has taken place. A group of men, loyal German citizens, filled only with enthusiasm over their home-coming, plunges into the thick of an atmosphere charged with suspicion, fear, hate. One by one, the men come against authority — in the form of terrorism. Sensational, frightful, bitter, this indictment of mediaeval methods in a modern world rings true, and carries more force than many volumes of unadulterated facts. (277834) $36.00
